No problems at all. They are one of the best primers available, and with their softer cups they are my primer of choice for guns with lighter hammer springs. If they were cheaper and more readily available, I would use them exclusively in all competition ammo for their reliability.

        They work fine. Use 'em.

I found that Fed SPP are a bit tight in PMC 38spl brass, causing an occasional snag on a progressive press. No other issues. It seems a couple of other users had similar findings when I posed a question on that:

Its all I use in my S&W 686 Competitor. CCI, while they work in my 9mm and 45ACP, they will FTF in the 686.

CCI, Federal, Winchester have all worked fine for me. I had Federal LPP and SPP's that sat in my closet for 20 years and not one misfire when used.

The only problemed primers I can think of were CCI #35 blue box. Just before they changed to white box, there was a few lots that went out with defective primers in them that ended up ruining a few 50 bmg rifles.

Federals are the softest of the bunch and are the norm for the fine-tuned competition revolvers in USPSA and ICORE. Fully seated, even slightly crushed to around 0.008"-0.010" is the standard for revolvers.

They will show pressure signs on hotter loads, so make sure you read those signs correctly based on the type of load and primer you're looking at. But for reliability and powder ignition they are like all the major ones - they work.
