let me start by saying im totally new to reloading. im getting into so i can have ammo for my beowulf at a reasonable cost and to make some long range .223 loads. all for plinking not going to be hunting or doing competitions.
i picked up the lee 4 hole turret kit which has the auto disk powder measure. it looks like it will work just fine for the .223 but the beowulf might be pushing it. quite a few of the beowulf charges are in the 45-50 grain range which is just above the auto disk limit even with the double disk kit. im wondering if its possible to use the double disk kit and the adjustable powder bar at the same time? if so then i can get the extra powder i need just fine. if not would it be ok to load the round with only half the charge weight but then double charge it? i fully understand the possible outcome of a double charge if it was done at any other time.
am i just better off measuring the powder for the beowulf by hand? thanks for any help.
