    reloading problem

As to a week ago I have only been reloading FMJ ammo.
I recently started reloading JHP and I'm having some problems with JHP.
when ever I fire the ammo the empty casing either stovepipes or the slide does not go back at all and there is an empty casing still inside.

The FMJ and JHP are both 115 Grain

Please advise what I can do to fix this. I do not want to keep this on hand for defense if It always stovepipes or does not cycle properly.

Quit "limp wristing" with the gun, it's not the ammo.

Sounds like theres not enough blow back.. Check to make sure you have the correct powder charge.. And or go up .5 at a time..

So how can I fix this? I have tried the low, max and in between powder charge.

Are you replacing a JHP for a recipe that calls for a FMJ? Check the load. These two bullet styles have different nose angles and OAL's. You may need to up the charge AND not limp wrist a Glock. Stovepiping happens alot with Glocks and limp wristing, especially a new one that has not been broken in yet. Well from what I've seen, but I shoot a Beretta 92

Granted I am not a lawyer but it is never recommended to use handloads from HD. Buy some factory HP's and just leave them in a mag.

I have a bunch of HD ammo but I just wanted to have like 300 extra so I was going to make some.

The charge I put in was 3.4 grains of Bullseye.

The Overall length of the bullet is 1.4mm

Yes I have manuals that's how I was successful with the FMJ's :-p

No wonder. You should up the charge to at least 4 grains.

correct me if I'm wrong or my manuals are out of date (they are old) it says not to go over 3.5 grain.

These are 9mm 115 grain bullets

The manuals says 3.2grain is the low 3.5 grain is the high

These are for Bullseye of course.

Is there someplace I can look up these Recipe rather than trusting an old manuals recipe guide in the back?

                              Yeap, you're using old info.

The info that I have shows ranges of:

                              3.9-4.6
                              3.8-4.8
                              4.2-4.7
                              ???-5.0

Looks like you need mo' boom boom juice up in there. (slowly, in increments of course [oh, and get some new books sir])
