Fiocchi SP primers

Hey fellas, I see that Phillips has these for $120.00 a box (1500 ct) I've never used them before. I was hoping some of you might have a review for me.

I can't use any of the search features here. It's been that way since they switched servers. Not to mention all of the weird use of the ? mark symbol.

Anyways, $120.00 for 1500 primers seems to be the best deal around town if they go bang everytime....

Don't know about those primers Mark, but, at least he does have some in stock.

Yes, been using those in place in of the ginex spp and cci spp. I find the Fiocchi to be a tad easier to seat and less likely to stick out compared to ginex.

2000+ fired just fine in an M&P. Good to go in my book.

I picked up about 2,000 of the Fiocchi small pistol primers at the Walla Walla Sportsman's a couple of month's ago. They shoot just fine.

I use a Dillon XL 650 and find that the Fiocchi primers don't quite run as smooth as the comparable CCI primers. I get one or two primers that stick in the primer wheel in every 50 or 60 used - it is like the sizing quality control is a little off. While not a terrible problem, it does slow me down a little and sometimes causes me to have to take apart a bullet that is missing a primer.

When looking at price, the Fiocchi box has 150 primers in it. Price divided by 150 is in line with Sportsman’s CCI price for a box of 100.

The only other weird thing is the 18 rows of 8 primers plus one row of six primers instead of rows of ten primers like in a CCI box.

At the Sportsman's price I would buy them again. If both Fiocchi and CCI primers were available at the same price, I would opt for the CCI.

My pleasure. I like trying to know what's going on. Seems like we are in the dark at times.

General note, not a reply - Some loading machines tolerate different brands of primers better than others. Older Dillon machines sometimes have issues. I helped a couple of guys with early 650's that were a mess for handling primers. They are a lot better now. I have a 750 but haven't played with it yet. (have other machines too) I had no issues with Fiocchi primers, have always had great luck with Winchester, and pretty good luck with CCI (not quite as good as Win). I've always had good luck with Federal primers too. The primers can vary a little in radius on the bottom of the cup and edge on the top. I've found that some flip easier on the tray than others, so they do vary a little.
I think you'll be very happy with Fiocchi.

I've been using them for 9mm. Not a single problem and I would buy them again, but note that my guns are not set up to need the softness of Federal primers.

No. The primers were picked up over 5 days or so with myself and family members purchasing them.

As of last week, as far as I know, their policy is still a two sleeve maximum per day per purchaser.

During "the primer shortage", I was lucky enough to acquire 500 of Piocchi SPP, I used in 38SPL and .45ACP SPP shell (the evil one). All 500 of them BANG.

not SPP but I have been using Fio 616 for my trap loads for well over a year. Not sure exactly how many but several thousand for sure. They've been 100%. Not a single FTF. I am using Fiocchi hulls so it's not surprising they press in nicely. IDK how their pistol primers fit in our USA brass but I am definitely interested. I am a little "gun shy" about Euro pistol primers because like others, I have issues (tight fit, hard press) with Ginex SPP in Starline brass.
