Had a dream was being followed and carjacked. I didn't shoot...
Played GTA5 and ran into some encounters that seemed realistic. The game has people picking a fight and go towards you until you pull out your gun. Gang members will shoot, etc. Ultimately the choices are limited.
I know there are training programs at gun ranges with lasers/IR guns.
Expensive
Would be great if there was a home based VR sim or FPS that let's you make decisions in real time like First Person Defender on youtube.
Nothing beats the real thing of course as every encounter will be nuanced and will go much faster than sims with deadly consequences.
Swat 4 was the last game that made me feel like I was actually trying to read hand position, body language, listening tones in voices, anticipating next steps, teamwork etc, as the goal was not to kill but incapacitate and bring order to chaos, highest score for non-lethal.
