I have been using my Dillon SQB for a few months now. I started to have some primer feed problems yesterday. I think the primers were getting stuck at the end of the plastic tip on the magazine. When I looked carefully there was a small burr on the plastic so I am pretty sure that towards the end of a run, there wasn't enough weight to push the primer past the burr. I sanded the burr off and the feed seems to be working but it brought up some questions.
How much friction should the end of the primer magazine create on the primers? Should primers be a slip fit on the own weight or is there supposed to be some friction?
I noticed the the very end of the plastic tip is a split-C section. If there was meant to be zero friction, I figure they could have used a simple tube and not a split C. Anyone know exactly how that design is supposed to work? My concern is that by sanding off the burr, now the primers slide through too easily. I'll call Dillon once the work week starts but I figure it could hurt to ask here.
