Kimber ammo

Being a 1911, 230gr round nose will feed the best. When I use factory ammo, I use Winchester whitebox. When I am shooting my loads, I use 200gr semi-wad-cutters which is a little more difficult to feed.Co-Founder of the Contra Costa Contras shooting team -
In my Kimber compact I shoot 200 grain SWC exclusively. I shoot both pennbullets and Oregon trail with no feeding problems. I have been using both Unique and Hodgdon Clays with good results. OAL I use is 1.25 and use a Lee FCD to finish off the rounds.
When I originally bought it in 2000 I used PMC and Fiocchi 230 hardball. After 5,000 plus rounds I decided to finally reload so I shoot lead and save the factory hardball stuff for other ocasions. Try whats works best in your gun.
I have only replaced my recoil springs once with some Wolff springs and the gun keeps on running like a champ. I would say I have at least 10k thru her.Comment
