    Collected LOTS of Brass.....at

So, I just got back from a 2 day hunting trip in A zone and, where we camped some idiot must of dumped his entire Wal-Mart stash of 40SW there! All in all I picked up ~1500 cases! Seems to me like he had a few FTE's... But yeah, Im pretty happy because the brass are still shinny and new, perfect for my XD!

I was camping at a lake near Tahoe one time and there were steel cased .32ACP cases EVERYWHERE.

Lucky you! Why doesn't that idiot just sell his brass, if he doesn't reload it? My local gun shop has a barrel full of once-fired Winchester AA' shotgun shells, which they sell for something like 5 or 10 cents each. Somebody could do the same thing with 1500 .40 S&W cases.

            And speaking of ammo....

Remington is hiring at their munitions plant in Arkansas according to CNN. They're running 24/7 just to meet the consumer demand. Maybe it's time to get out of this anti-gun communist paradise and move to a free state. Nothing wrong with getting a job that you enjoy doing...

I found enough 223 cases to fill two large coffee cans, at a pistol match last Sunday. I was picking up my 40s along with 9s and 45s and thought the 223s were steel but I looked closer and they were brass, mostly winchester. They were just filthy and had been there a while. some looked like they saw a fire, but most were only dirty. There were a few rounds that were unused and looked to be in good condition without strikes on the primers.

They all polished up to look like new. It seems to good to be true to find that many. I am hoping that there wasn't anything wrong with them. I guess I will find out when I use them.

So you let them do some "Rollin and a Tumblin" all night long in crushed walnut shells?

I let them roll in corncob and lyman pollish for a few hours after I got back from the range, and then another few hours the next night. They look great, like any other brass. I will size them on my dillon 550 and then run them through some fine walnut/corn mix to take the lube off. I seem to have better luck with corn than walnut. The corn cleans very well and gives a great shine. I did not like the red dust that came with the walnut.

I don't expect to have any problemb with the brass. I hope it was just left because the person didn't reload. That many cases are worth some decent money. I felt like a theif picking all of those up, but it was a workout and the temp was like 107 degrees in the sun.

You know your a brass whore when you are hot, tired, thirsty, and ready to pass out from the heat, but you still continue picking up brass until you are convinced you got every last one!

I know of a few places that people shoot and don't pick up thier brass. Last time out I scored alot (4 5 gallon buckets) of mixed brass of various calibers, 22lr thru 7mm Mag. I keep what I want and pass the rest on to buddies, the odd stuff and trash goes into the recycle bucket. I leave places cleaner than I found them.
Some people will do skanky things for $25, and not all those people are crack whores.

Used to get a sore back from pickin' up spent brass ...

Now I use a large plastic rake, broom & a dustpan.

Am reminded of yardwork @ home, ya know .....

I'll recommend to Al Gore, that he issues all the Brass whores a "green" star for helping to save the planet.

Nothing wrong w/ picking up brass after some lazy slob. Keep it clean & get a reward.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

Is it wrong to love to scrounge free brass? I don't think so. My friends say I have, "The thousand yard brass stare". Haha!
