    Reloading gave me satisfaction.....

As some of you already know, i started getting into reloading. After i bought all my gear for the basics of reloading, i was able to find a local shop who had powder, primers, and bullets in stock. I read the Lee 2nd Edition reloading book, and lots of questions answered by Darklyte27, i made some ammo. I was scared at first, hoping that i didnt mess something up and risk myself or my rifle. So i double checked everything, weighed the powder 3 times, then after every 10rds i weighed it again to make sure it was still calibrated and pouring the same amount. I hate the Lee scale that came with the kit, it works, but its slow. Im looking at the RCBS Chargemaster now.

Went to the range today with Darklyte (Mike) to test out the new ammo. Nothing exploded in my face, lol. With the wind, and my breathing, it was about 1.75" at 100yds. I am happy with that, i want it to be better, but time and more reloading will make it better. But the satisfaction of me hand loading my own ammo is awesome. The money i save will only increase. Thanks Mike for your help, im sure i will be coming to you for more questions, and thanks to everyone in this forum for helping me out, you guys are great!

Nice, sounds like you are loading .223 right? Once you get a better powder dispenser you'll be less paranoid. I love using my Dillon 650 and that is the next dies I am getting for it. Keep up the good work and be careful

Actually its for .308win. Once i get a little better, i'll buy some dies and small rifle primers and start doing .223 for the AR.

Yup it's a great feeling. No worrying about how much money you're burning up or how you're going to replenish your ammo stash. Just get to shoot until you're tired.

thats the main reason i wanted to reload. The wife doesnt like that i spend $100+ each time i go shooting on ammo. I showed her what reloading is and the cost, and she seemed to be a little more receptive to the idea.

I hear ya, today i took my first 100 rounds of 45.acp that i loaded and shot them with out worrying about cost or when i would be able to get more. all 100 rounds went through my kimber with zero malfunctions, not even 1 failure to feed or extract. it was also nice to be able to suit the load to my shooting style and i cant wait to shoot a match on sunday

That's my take on reloading, it simply enhances my shooting experience.

It's a great hobby that goes hand in hand with my other hobby.......shooting!

Good on ya for being careful/cautious with your reloading, when it comes to kabooms and body parts close to that kind of pressure, it's good to be aware of what can happen.

Of course, you do save money by reloading, but you will also spend a lot to get there by purchasing reloading components in bulk and other 'gotta have' stuff for the bench.

Enjoy your new hobby and shoot straight!
