Getting my reloading room set up in Kentucky

Here's the view out the window of my walk out basement reloading room. It will finish out at 16' x 18' with heating and air, an outside door and full length window.

It's 560 yards to my back gate and the spotting scope is to watch the deer, squirrels, coyotes, ground hogs, raccoons, etc. wandering around my pasture.

    Nice!

Mine is in the planning phase. No acreage, but a decent size bedroom that will be dedicated to fly fishing stuff & reloading.

Once the honey do list is done…

Can you legally shoot there? There's a guntuber with a similar setup, with a window that slides completely open. He has a bench with a benchrest set up on it. Doesn't even have to go outside to test loads.

If that were my pasture, I'd be planting some steel.

I have a shooting range set up on the hill above the woods to the left. I'll be building a shelter up there in the spring.

I'll have to look up the regs for shooting from an occupied dwelling, I can cover my whole pasture (560 yards) from my side porch. Of course, most of the time I don't need to shoot that far, yesterday the deer were in my backyard.

Really nice. You've got a slick setup there, with game animals to hunt should you so choose.

Time to start paperwork on some silencers, so as to not spook the critters.

I have my application in and am waiting for the BATF approval for my suppressor since August.

I just got an answer from the game warden.

I am allowed to hunt deer from my window and/or porch as long as I shoot in a safe direction. Anything that I kill out of season (for depredation) I have to report it to the local Fish and Wildlife office.

                        That's pretty awesome.
On the flip side, you are stuck in Kentucky
