    Question for primer brand ?

Just narrow down to pistol primer only.
Before the pandemic I just go to the store and buy the cheapest or on-sale primers and they are: Remington, CCI, Federal, Winchester. I just select them by their price and never had problem with any of them.

Now I saw some new brand of pistol primer such as: ZSR, Ginex, Murom, MacTech, Servicios Aventures,....... And their price ain't cheap.

I would like to know are those primers working alright ? which one to buy and which one to avoid ?

Oh, what the good old day.

Yep I heard they are from Europe and over there. Some are harder than stated. Some have a percent of duds. Many with modern guns say they are fine.

Murom primers, that's what I've been using most of the time since 2012, and I mean tens of thousands of them. I've had fine experience with them. They're made in Russia. Typically they've been marketed under the Wolf or Tulammo brands here in the States. They've been every bit as reliable as the Remington, Winchester, CCI, and Federal primers, and yes, I've tried all of those brands.

Matter of fact, I just developed a ".45 Colt Magnum" loading using that new Accurate 11FS powder. I meant to use LPPM's, but ended up using LPP regulars instead. They were the Tulammo (Murom) primers. Each one of the five loads, from 23.2 gr to 27.2 gr, fired just fine with the LPP regulars. This was with a Ruger Super Redhawk 454.

So, while I don't know about the other brands listed by the OP, I can say buy the Murom primers with confidence.

I bought a case of the Ginex small pistol primers. I normally use CCI. I've noticed no difference. No experience with the others you mentioned, but I'd assume if there were problems, someone would post about it.

Ginex has been fine so far. Loaded around 1200-1300 so far.

I miss the old Magtech primers. They were the sweetest deal ever imo. They're similar to Winchester except they used to be priced way better, more sensitive, and fed better. I bought 100k of them years ago. I have 1k left.

I'm on the search for a Federal clone. Something that has the same sensitivity. If anyone knows then please post where to get some.
