    RCBS rocks...again

I've used my trusty Rock Chucker for almost 40 years and somewhere around 100,000 rounds. Last weekend, I broke a 2nd spring on my 2nd universal primer arm. First one lasted 30+ years and 75,000 rounds +/-. Wrote RCBS and they are sending a replacement under warranty. Its been said many times, but I'll say it again. What a great company!

I was running one of my Rock Chuckers through its passes when the handle exceeded its limited travel, and then the ram hit the floor. I knew I could not accuse my wife of anything, she did help me locate all of the missing parts.
I called RCBS, I told them I needed enough parts to put it together, but I had no interest in exchanging it.

They sent me all of the related parts, I never thought I was the one reloader that was not going to get the first-class treatment because I still insist the Rock Chucker does not cam over. I have insisted the Rock Chucker locks up or goes into a bind and the ram is kicked forward at the top when the linkage gets all tangled up. That leaves the ram being kicked back at the bottom.

No one ever asked me why I checked the Rock Chucker for cam-over, non-cam over status. I have 12 Herter presses, all of them cam-over. RCBS in the instructions for the Piggy-back one and two claimed the Piggy-back attachment has a one-way clutch; meaning the Rock Chucker does not cam over, if it did the reversing direction of the ram would bust the one-way clutch.

I know nothing about the new Rock Chuckers, I know I had rather have one of my old RCs than a new one without knowing where it came from.

            CS was also VERY fast

One additional note to my shout-out to RCBS. I sent an email to their CS on Friday or Saturday. On Monday, I received an email reply that they would send a new primer arm, but the boilerplate notation in the email said it might take 2 - 4 weeks. On Tuesday, two new primer arms arrived in the mail to replace my two broken ones. Granted, it only had to travel less than 100 miles in the mail, but one-day service far exceeded my high expectations.

It's about time for the blue fanbois to chime in and claim buy once, cry once.

RCBS rocks! I have only called them on a few occasions, after describing my situation, often just asking for a part number of an accessory I misplaced, the next question from the CS agent is my address.

Parts showed up in the mail, no questions asked.

                Top notch, first class company!

Can't recommend any RCBS products made in the past 10 years.

I have more RCBS gear than anything else for reloading, followed by Dillon. No complaints with either. It’s good to know they stand behind their products.

Without specifics I can't recommend we follow your advice.

Those are good, no great ideas.

After all, there are lesser quality brands on the market at the same price point.

I have a couple hundred pounds of 1970s early 80s RCBS products that have never failed me. If you want to
stop and compare end user QC let me know, be glad to show you. Then you too will see the obvious.

I have a Dillion progressive and it is great. My 40 year old + Rock Chucker is great and so is RCBS's customer service. I love that company and give them a + positive every chance I get.
