    Annealer recommendations please

It's that time, tired of the slow annealing process and looking for an automatic unit. What do you all suggest? I don't want to destroy expensive Lapua brass.

    Thanks.

Are you sure?..........Are you sitting down?............ Buy an AMP and don't look back. Everything else is guess work. and if you want to protect the investment in good brass buy an AMP. I've had one since 2019 and would do it again in a heart beat.

The choices are a work-around or a machine that does its job incredibly well -- Annealing made Perfect or some other similar induction device (though I don't think any are as good as AMP).

I was gonna settle on the mandrel from Little Crow gunworks for $11 considering I’ll only be doing about 100/pieces at a time or less. But the automation of the process is appealing.
I have the annealezz. Dont buy. Plastic wheels get too hot. Start to melt.

Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I have an original (I think) model Annealeez; the only time I melted the wheels was trying to anneal pistol brass that the unit was not designed for. Not really a big deal, trim off and melted raised areas with a knife, and have at the next batch.

You can get around that problem by making sure the flame is pointed slightly away from the unit face. Replacing the torch holder with an arm like this helps to do that:

You have to come up with mount for the torch; pretty quick with a block of aluminum, a 1/2" drill bit, a hacksaw, and an couple sets of appropriately sized drills, taps and screws.

Ive been enjoying the EP Integration 2.0. Simple to setup and use, the only downside is that you can only load 1 case at a time, there is talk about making a hopper in the future. It took me just over 3hrs to do 2k 30-06, and once you get in a rythme time goes pretty fast.

I have an Annealeez too. I use the crap out of it. I have 2 sets of wheels, large and small. The small are for the 223 and 224 Valkyrie, large I run 308 and 6.5C. I've done several hundred at once, load it up, watch the flame and let it rip. The wheels melt if you don't have the flame direction adjusted properly. For the money you just can't beat it.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

The Annealeez 3 now has a detached torch mount which should make it easier to keep from destroying wheels from the flame. Seems legit, along with the EG or AGS.

                        Version 2

I added the steel heat shields sold on ebay.
Maybe i run it too long.
I try to run it for at least one hour.

Does it work with rimmed cases? I have lots of 300 Win Mag to do, is it big enough for 338 Lapua? That's a relatively wide case.
