Yeah I was adding my 1911 to my permit the other day and bought a box of 100. Was not sure about how they felt about using reloads. They were about $65. Still have 50 left and they are going on the shelf. Back to reloads.

Been working on loads using Red Dot in .45 acp and .45 Colt. So far, so very good! Too hot for the desert right now, so,maybe an indoor range or Burro Cyn.
The RD/.45 Colt load is becoming a favorite. Works well in my Henry and Pietta.

I just picked up a Redding Ultramag press. I can tell it’s been mounted before but I doubt it’s had any usage as it’s in excellent shape. This thing is built like a tank and I’m surprised I haven’t seen too many write ups on it.

I have it mounted now on my bench but still trying to figure out it’s purpose. I have an XL650 & a Rock Chucker already on the other end of the bench but I’m sure I’ll find a use for it.

You have a Rock Chucker, I suggest you compare the frame opening on the Redding Ultra Mag to the frame opening on the Rock Chucker. I do not have a Sharps Buffalo Rifle or a British Nitro-Express rifle, so all of my presses work with my dies and shell holders.

Forming: I have no idea why reloaders require heavy duty presses when forming cases. If one of my presses bog down, I am doing something wrong.
And then there is that opening between the bottom of the die and top of the shell holder. I have arbor presses. When it comes to forming with tons of effort do not forget to lube your cases. I use a no-name lube, I only use the no-name lube on difficult to size/form cases.
