I run one on a 550. No issues. We I looked into it I could not find instances of broken presses. If it was a problem I would think the interwebs would be full of uh-ohs with pictures and a lot of I screwed ups.

Give the RCBS Primer Pocket swager kit a try first (since you already have it) before buying something else. You never know, it might work for you.

I use it. Prob ran about 10k of 556 through it. You've just got to check it every now and then to make sure the mounting screws haven't come loose.

I personally can't see how pressing down to remove the crimp is that much more pressure then when pressing down to prime. I'm sure someone smarter than myself will be along to explain how it will crack the frame of the press.

I use it on a 650. I fought the urge for a while and hand sorted any brass that looked crimped. When loading, I pulled any brass that had priming issues out and ran them through the Dillon Pocket Swager. Did that for years and just dealt with it.

Then I got 2k of 100% crimped 223 brass to add to the mix, all same head stamp. I decided to look into it.

What I did like about it is its not like the old spring loaded ones, so it cant obstruct the shell plate when indexing. Obstructing the shell plate on the 650 results in a snapped indexer ring.

              Im happy with it.

Paseclipse, I’ve Used the RCBS swagger for years and it’s worked perfectly for what it does But 10k cases Is a lot to swagg. I like the idea of sizing then swagging all on one shell plate

I figured if there were issues with the combination of press and swagger that it would have been brought up far more then those who are happy with it.

I just moved to chino so haven’t made any friends out here with a 1050 lol

There's also the Lee APP. It can be easily set up with a case feeder, and seems to work pretty well. Set up op1 for decapping (and maybe sizing) and second op sage the primer pocket.
There are some people that it's just not worth engaging.

It's a muzzle BRAKE, not a muzzle break. Or is your muzzle tired?

I have a super swager. As made by Dillon the swage for small primers was the wrong dimensions. I ruined a bunch of brass, around 500 pieces, with it. I should have checked sooner but I trusted that Dillon had a QC program. After modifying the swage tip it works fine.

Whatever you decided, do a small number of cases and check them before doing a bunch.

I had an RCBS unit, it worked perfectly.

I have had a Dillon Super Swagger for many years with both large and small tips. It has worked very well. I just run all my 223/5.56 brass thru it to not have to check each piece. It is fast and the most I have done at once is 5,700 cases
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Lee APP is a great cheap brass processing press. I use it to keep my dillons clean. Swaging on it is cake.

Used to use the RCBS kit but the swagger used to fight me a lot and i hated it. espcecially since it was single stage. The lee apps swager is spring loaded so it easier to work with and the case feeder makes is so much faster
