    9mm firing pin mark?

Can anyone tell me what this is indicative of on the primer strike. The mark on the outside of the pin strike. This happens out of my XD9 only.

Its just the tip of the firing pin wiping as the gun unlocks. Not uncommon, most guns don't have a way to retract the firing pin after firing so imaging the pin is still sticking in the primer when the rear of the barrel starts to drop as it unlocks.

Part #30 may be a bit gummed up and sticky.

      Just a guess.

Interesting. My XD9 does not do that. Maybe yours needs to be cleaned?

What load info? Factory ammo or reloads that run hot will have firing pin drag marks like that.

                Vectan BA7.5
                4gr with 147gr plated RN COL 1.16

                These rounds all stove piped.

I can't recall if it happens on factory ammo, ill have to check next time i'm out.

Yep. Got some more 147gr test rounds loaded to 4.3, 4.5 for this weekend to try out. Read some that BA7.5 is weaker than advertised, this might not be the powder I want to use for these. We’ll see.
                        Works great with 115gr RN.
