    12 Guage slugs

Anyone have a supplier that has 12 G slugs in stock. If you know of one in Orange County that would be really nice.

I have a 12g lyman slug mold just add lead. Are you talking ammo or reloading supplies?

Reloading supplies. I've been giving serious thought to the route you've taken. Where do you buy your lead? Have you considered alternative metals?

I sell lead and ship it. Anything from pure lead to Lyman #2 a much harder lead alloy. Normaly under $2 a pound. Occasionally some tin or linotype. Unfortunately lead is becoming very hard to get for most people everywhere so people have begun casting with zinc as an alternative. Which means you must be careful with zinc contamination in unknown lead. Zinc is not fun to clean up!
Lead slugs are usually made from near pure lead with about 2% tin. Tin allows the lead to fill the mold better.

Darn it. The first post was interesting, I was looking forward to some more and then realized it was another double post..

            Good stuff, thank you.

I've used those same wads (got them cheap) they work good with the Lee 1oz and 7/8oz slugs. New shot might be a little too hard for slugs especially magnum shot. It's also can be a pain to melt back down.
Please, shot is kinda hard to get in some places and hard to make, PLEASE don't melt it down. Trade it to someone like me. I'll trade near pure lead for new or reclaim shot any day of the week. Twice on Sunday's

Funny, I remember when I was a boy and plumbers carried around 5 pound bricks of lead.

I've got some of that plumers lead. Also a bunch of different solders 30/70, 40/60, 50/50, 63/37 all the way to leadfree stuff in bars and rolls big and small. The sweet stuff

Every so often I find a good buy for lead on ebay. I got 55 lbs for a dollar a pound. I don`t find it very often but its there.

                          Needs

I am looking for stuff to make slugs for a 12 gauge smooth bore. Molds. Equipment to melt lead. Etc., etc. Never thought I'd get to the point of making my own bullets, but here I am. New adventures for an old man.
