    Cast rounds through glock 21?

Hey all, looking into getting into reloading, and am interested in using 200gr LSWC from http://www.missouribullet.com/result...5&secondary=13 in my G21.

Can these be shot through the factory barrel, or is a new barrel required? Also, are cast bullets any more challenging to reload than say, the Berrys 200gr SWC?

    Thanks!

You will need an aftermarket barrel like KKM or Jarvis in order to shoot lead bullets through a Glock. Okay to shoot jacketed ammo only with the factory barrel.

You can shoot Rainier or Berrys plated bullets through a stock Glock barrel. I shoot 1200 fps through my10mm.

I think you can shoot regular lead bullets through a factory Glock barrel, but need to look out for leading, and remove any every 100-200 rounds.

I think Glock is pretty adamant about not shooting any lead rounds through their factory barrels; I could be wrong.

I would not risk my hands to shoot lead through a stock Glock barrel. I would get an aftermarket barrel or buy an XD.

They recommend against it - as long as you don't let the barrel get too fouled up you are good to go.

That being said, you are better off using a replacement barrel with 'normal' rifling. But you could still shoot them.

But if you are planning on casting and shooting a ton of them, just bet a different barrel.

just buy a lone wolf replacement barrel for your glock (your stock barrel is most likely ready for a replacement) and shoot the lead through the old one...

that' assuming your current stock barrel is shot out already.... of course i wouldnt shoot lead through the stock barrel if it doesnt need replacement...

I shoot lead in all of my guns, even my Glock 40 S&W and 9mm because of the cost savings. I also load light jacketed rounds and shoot one through every once in awhile to clean the lead out.
