    Well, LC started making non corrosive primed M2 Ball ammo starting with lot # 13700 in 1951.

    Your re-pack date "HAW 50" could mean re-packed at the Hawthorne Army ammunition depot in 1950.

    The actual manufacture date of your can of ammo is likely to be 1950 or before and is likely to be chlorate primed (corrosive) ammo.

    The only way to be sure would be to open it and actually see.

      Ammo inside could be mixed lot. Dump out all the returned and onhand ammo. Sort out the bad looking stuff and repackage.
