    Brass discoloration

I wet tumbled some 9mm brass after wet tumbling 223 brass that's been resized. I think the lanolin from 223 case caused the discoloration and I wet tumbled again using simple green and then industrial purple with lemishine when that didn't work. It came out shiny but turned this brown color again when dried. Color doesn't really bother me but is it safe to reload? Is the brass weakened? I'm thinking no but want to be sure.

Also for plinking 223 loads, do you wet tumbled for clean primer pocket or does it not matter? Thanks all

When using lemishine don't tumble more than 30 min. Discoloration is from the acid

I see, didn't expect lemishine to be that strong. Appreciate all the tips!

Where the primers still in the pistol brass.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

It's hard to tell in the pic. That could be the problem.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

                  as to .223

I decap / de prime before tumbling to clean the primer pocket.

Match Ammo gets a lot of attention.

I'd say not too long in Lemishine, but too much Lemishine.

I use an AR-12 tumbler, maybe a gallon, or a gallon and a half capacity, load it up with decapped brass, pins, hot tap water, a couple of tablespoons of dawn or car wash and wax, and about 1/8 to 1/4 tsp of Lemishine powder (I sprinkle it in; I don't measure.) I've left it running for over 8 hours, and brass came out, well, brass colored.

I tumble for one hour in warm water and Dawn with pins, drain and flush, then tumble for a second hour with same, then flush and soak for twenty minutes in Lemishine and warm water, Rinse and dry, nice and shiny.

This is a recurring topic/problem. See post #7 for info:

I did that with my first attempt at cleaning 9 mm brass. They still shoot fine though.

I only use a case full of Lemoshine with about 3 squirts of Dawn for about 20-30 minutes in warm water with S/S pins. Dump dirty water, refill with warm water and add car wash with wax for another 20-30 minutes.

Do this and when you go to the range all will say:
