    RCBS Rebel "KIT"

Would you guys recommend this kit for starters?

Should I just buy the press and source individual parts i.e. make my own kit?

My budget is $500 and hoping to have everything to load 9mm in that budget. Less components of course...

    Hec yeah

I like the supreme kit a little better because of the beam scale

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Get the kit. They usually include something you wouldn't think you need. Or you won't be able to get because it's oos.

The press itself is also on sale for about $205. Wondering if I can put together the other pieces with better stuff even it cost slightly more than what the kit offers.

My 1970s RCBS Press, Powder Thrower and Scale are still in service problem free.

However, I cannot recommend RCBS anymore on many of their products, especially their kits.

+1 rockchucker Supreme kit. That's what I bought to start and it's still going strong, never an issue.

            Good luck!

Good point. I have several scales, digital and beam. I am always going back to the beam scale because I don't trust the digital. As a thought, look for a good used beam scale and maybe save some $$$.

I have slight OCD and I know I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I reloaded using/trusting 1 digital scale. I will have 2 scales (one beam).

OP I have this kit. You need a second scale (digital or beam) and check weights! The powder measure thrower is very accurate after setting it up to your specific powder. The hand priming tool is nice. Enjoy!

I like your thinking. I trust my Ohaus 10-10 beam type scale over any handloading digital scale. Had it since '78; never a problem. Like golfish said, the kit with the beam would be a better choice. But, maybe look around and see what you can do.

I get my load close using a digital scale and then switch to my beam scale and dial it in.

I would do the Hornady kit for a few more bucks and less chinesium…

My digital scale weighs the test weight fine, so I sleep day and night.

My RCBS Rockchucker, scale and powder thrower have served me well since the early 1980's.

If I were get a kit though, I would have to look at Lyman, Hornady and Redding kits too.

I'm from the "start on a single stage" camp, but for 9mm, I would have to consider options for a progressive, depending on how much you shoot.
