    Damn you.

I cancelled a ruger American in 6.5 for a .308 instead because I don't want to get into another caliber setup.

Would a .308 not do the same at 100 yds?

On paper, the RDF is the better bullet: same weight with much higher ballistic coefficient.

Compared to the Custom Competition bullet, at 1000 yards it drops almost 40 inches less and drifts 20 inches less in a 10mph crosswind.

So it would be the clear winner if I could find an accurate load for it.

But I was never able to find a load that grouped better than 1 MOA, out of rifles capable of 1/2 MOA or better with the Nosler 140 grain Custom Competition bullet.

The problem with the popularity is that it has made it hard to find H4350. Alternatives are IMR 4350 and RL16.
139gr works well, and as you stretch out further, 147gr may be worth trying.
I seem to get ~50fps more from match primers with H4350.
I've been told that the smaller flash hole of the Lapua SRP brass gets a more favorable ignition of the propellant, but I haven't used it enough yet to see any difference with my recipes.

When I first started reloading 6.5 CM, I got hang fires from Federal GM205M and Win 760, watched Johnny's Reloading Bench videos he was having similar issues with small rifle primers. Switched to CCI 450 and IMR 4350, no more hang fires.

Shooting Times has a nice article this month on that subject. Cliff Notes version is don't use them on a cold day and don't use them with double base powders. I'm not sure of their definition of a cold day but I doubt we see them here in the East Bay too often. The problem with double base powders they said is that they are harder to ignite.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

I don't think I will see much of a weather issue in So Cal. I am just trying to find a good starting load for the caliber. Maybe I should try IMR 4350 first.

4350 to superformance has load data for 6.5 cm. This means reloader 16, 17, and 19 all fall in between burn speeds. Also staball 6.5, 4831... You can even go WAY faster burn with blc2 class stuff, so also leverlution cfe223 etc etc.

There's a crazy amount of bullet and powder combos you can use.

4350 didn't work as well for me as 4831.
