It’s not strength it’s repetition, that old rock chucker has made a crap load of ammo over the years. While many have gone to progressive presses I soldier on with my old single stag press. But I bet that old single stage has chucked out more ammo then most peoples progressives. When you use parts a lot, they wear and break, this time it was just an in opportune time.

I bought a Lee primer with feed tray and love it. My RockChucker primer arm came loose and broke.

Why are you not hand priming? That is a much better way and you can do so watching TV if you want.
I took those arms off my presses years ago

I've owned and used 5 different priming tools and have found the Franklin Arsenal to be the most reliable, fast and easiest on the hand. Been using it now about 5 years. You can adjust the depth, comes with common shell holders. On sale at Midway, link:

RCBS has always been pretty good about sending free repair parts if they don't break due to abuse (and sometimes even then...)

^^^This. I've broken a few over the years (leaf springs will fatigue and break over time).

RCBS has always sent new ones, no charge. They once sent me two just in case. Their CS is the best in the business.

If I broke more than 1 flat spring in any mechanism, I would be looking for the cause.
The spring temper might be too hard.
You could re-temper slightly softer to give the spring less stress and therefore less likelihood of breakage.
Or narrow up the spring some through the middle of the spring so that the middle flexes more than right against that edge of the slot where the spring is retained and is breaking.

                        Emergency repair part.

I've bought a half dozen priming tools over the decades. They run from mediocre to downright suck. I saw one on the web that looked pretty good, but it was like 200 bucks. I'll put up with $25 mediocre for a long time before I'd spend two hunnerd dollars for a freakin' priming tool.

Bulk pistol loading on a single stage sounds like a nightmare. 😄

OP you think you got it bad. I just finished my new reloading room and then the next day I broke my right leg. Don't think RCBS can help with that one.
