I've been reloading 5.7 for years. I almost exclusively shoot my reloads.
Best results are with 40gr hornady v-max, true blue powder and standard small rifle primers.
I hand wash a bunch of cases in the sink tub with simple green and a pinch of dish soap. Then wipe off each case by hand.
Let dry, then lube and resize. I use Lee dies.
If the cases are new, you'll need to trim them, and again depending how hot your loads are. I can get 2-3 firings between trims (I trim using a WFT 2).
I use a pretty mild load of true blue, 5.4-5.5gr. The shoulders hardly move, it probably contributes to my long case life. My data is academic of course, use at your own risk.
I found I can get at least 7-8 uses out of cases before the coating starts to fail and they stop working in ps90 mags. If you want to avoid jamming hassles, 5-6 uses would be optimal.
Take care on how you run the cases in the dies. If the case drags on one side, it can wipe out a patch of coating there. The 5.7 pistol is more tolerant of spotty coating, I save my rougher cases to shoot in the pistol (and not recover).
I've experimented with cheap 33gr jhp rounds, but they tend to jam much more. The hornady 40gr seems to be the best available bullet to use.
