Autocomp or Bullseye?

stormvet, what are the handgun calibers you're loading for? Bullseye works mighty fine in .45 acp and .38 spl. Can't help on Autocomp.

These are about the opposite powders.
Bullseye is low charge for lighter loads, and meters not great. Autocomp is for comp'd guns and can make very fast high pressure ammo, and it meters excellently.
Autocomp wants pressure, so it's not great for 45 or 38spl.Comment

Sounds like Bullseye might be a better fit for a Jack of all trades pistol powder, how is it in 40 S&W. Although it sounds like comp might be better for it, i really prefer to use just one pistol powder makes things much easier. W231 is perfect for that, I use that ***t in everything, when I can find it.Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.Comment

Pretty much any of the faster pistol powders will work for light target loads. Take a look at a powder burn rate chart, and you'll see there's a bunch of powders between Bullseye and Unique (including your 231.)
I load using WST (switched from Titegroup when I couldn't find any, and Win 452AA before that) for bullseye 32SWL, 38Spl, and 45.Comment

You're not supposed to use WST for 9mm, but holy crap its amazing for 9mm. It makes light loads, but they shoot softer than anything I've tried. Its published and current for 40 and 45 too, but it really shines in 9.
Not that it really matters either, but WST smells great.
