years ago I was on the cast bullet forums and learned the trick... cut up and wrap the pieces of a copper chore-boy around an old brush & run it through and the lead will come right out. what they didn't tell me was to make sure that when you cut it to make sure that you are either doing it outside or over the garbage can as the woven pad will come apart and you will have pieces everywhere

since they come in packs of two I have always used the other one to clean off any build up on the top strap...

Whoa, that is some dated data right there. #43!? OLD data. Use newer info to be safer, as loading data is measured differently nowadays.

Newer Lyman manuals don't list Unique. I have the 50th Editon and the 4th Cast Bullet, and neither lists Unique for anything over 120 gr.

That old 43-44 Lyman load is probably somewhere in the realm of 46,000 cup, a bit spicy. Those old manuals do still have some useful loads especially for cast bullet rifle. But reloaders should still cross reference with other manuals especially if it doesn't contain pressure data. Now, I don't know if herco powder when heavily compressed slows down it's burn rate, but there's no way I'm stuffing 11.6gr(a load from 44th) under a 160gr bullet in a 357 mag case when Lyman 48th says that 7.5 is 41,000 cup.

I found a partial can of Herco in my crap. I don't remember ever using it.

A 158 grain bullet in a .357? Sounds rather High Tec?
