I FOUND OUT WHERE ALL THE AMMO'S GOING !!

I was in Wal-Mart buying CCI Standard Velocity .22 ammo BECAUSE I SHOOT A TON OF IT.

There was an OLD GUY in there (I'm guessing mid to late 80s) using a walker, looking for 9mm. I asked him if he shot much?

He said, "no not for years, but I need to load up in case anything happens".

That my friends is where all the ammo is going, mostly to people that don't shoot.

So you're saying an old guy with a walker outbuys you on ammo? Not surprised.

Another reason is there are now millions of new gun owners, ordinary citizens who under normal circumstances would probably not own a gun, who bought guns in a panic during the 2020 nation wide unrest which showed the people they cannot depend on the police. I have read approximately 7 million new owners of predominantly handguns and mostly 9mm. So, 7 million times at least one or two boxes of ammo and there is a instant shortage.

Bull crap, it's hoarders that don't shoot. There's a bunch of them on Calguns. They usually post, "I'm moving, how do I move a ton of ammo".

              Those guys are the problem.

C'mon, seriously!?! You can't take an 80 yo with a walker? You should have leg swept the walker out from under hit, throat punched him a couple of times and stole his ammo.

So you're saying that a guy who buys a box of ammo a week and shoots it all up, somehow hs more right to purchase that box, than some guy who buys a box a week and doesn't shoot it up, but saves it for a time of need?

By that same logic if someone blows their whole paycheck every week, they have a right to the full dollar amount of their wages, while someone who lives frugally on half their paycheck and saves the rest deserves to get a 50% pay cut.

Is that how your reasoning works Racer? Sounds a lot like communism to me... "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need" where somebody else gets to decide how much contribution you should make, and how much you "need" according to their standards.

Ammo is going because it's simple supply vs. Demand...

Low supply, high demand. If there was plenty then wouldn't even be reading this thread. Ammo is easy, try looking for gun powder and primers!

                          Completely agree.

If everyone took up shooting as a hobby it couldn't get any worse.

I can't disagree with the logic, but I don't really know if there are enough hoarders to move the market.

Not sure how it's relevant how much of what they are purchasing, they shoot. I know you don't mean it that way, but it sounds awful whiney like you think you are more deserving since you want to shoot a lot.
Now, those who are snagging up ammo to flip, they are manipulating the market.
