    Black Widow Shooters Supply

    Happy Friday...

I'm having a little contact problem with this company. They sent me a used product and the wrong die. I've emailed and called several times with no luck at all.

I'm not bad mouthing them, there could be a reason why they haven't returned my emails for the past 4 weeks.

They're in So Cal so I'm hoping someone might have an idea what's going on down there.

    Thanks

They sent me the right unit and one of the dies is .222, I ordered. 223. The blister pack is open and the until has been used. It might be okay to use and the .222 die might work okay for .223.

All of this stuff might be just fine. I'd just like to know that before I start using it.

There could be a reasonable answer.

They don't have voice mail either.

So you've used this unit and dies?
There doesn't seem to be many here that have used them.

          Thanks for the info

You don't have to have used them to know that .222 Rem and .223 Rem are different cartridges. They share bullet diameter and Case head diameter.

But EVERYTHING in between is different. Especially the case length.

If you shove your .223 Rem cases into a .222 sizing die. They will go in as 223s, and come out as 222s. Which will fit like a BB in a Boxcar in your 223 rifle chamber.

Check here for the case dimensions of both. https://saami.org/wp-content/uploads...sting-Copy.pdf

222 is on page 66 and 223 is on page 68. The top BP is the cartridge itself. And easiest for layman to read.

              Oh my!

I completely understand the size difference between. 222 vs .223.

I appreciate the post but I'm talking about a die for the trim-it II case trimmer (see and read OP).

These dies look a lot like a bearing. I don't think it will work but I don't know.

OK, first I suggest that you take your own advise and (see and read OP)

You made no mention of any "trim-it II case trimmer". In the OP or the other prior posts. Until the last post. Your title mentions "Black Widow Shooters Supply". But that could be in relation to any shooter's supply in SoCal. And there are dozens. No mention of a trimmer. Or that they are a manufacturer of trimmers, or any other shooter tools or accessories. The "wrong die" reference, I believed to be a reloading die. Not a "CARTRIDGE SPECIFIC STOP COLLAR", which is bearing mounted, for a trimmer.

So, now that we are actually on the same page. Is the "cartridge specific stop collar" pressed into the bearing? Or is it separate changeable?

Using the relative dimensions on pg 66 and 68, in previous link Considering that the 23 degree shoulder angle is same for both. Is the shoulder Dia. The 222 is .0031" larger than a 223. ..... So a 223 is gonna be a bit sloppy, but MAYBE not sloppy enough to matter.

Neck OD is same @ .253". So this particular stop collar will be indexing off of the [shoulder-neck] juncture.

If there is ENOUGH travel in the "micro" adjustment. To compensate for the neck length disparity. It should work fine. And maybe this outfit sends the same "bearing mounted stop collar" for both 222 and 223.

With their failure to respond to CS concerns. I suggest you get out your calipers and give it a go. Since that is the only means to find out.

They sent you a used trimmer. They can't be to awfully upset if you send them back a used trimmer. In case it doesn't work.
