    The drought is over!

Fed ex guy came yesterday with 5k CCI Large Rifle benchrest primers from Grafs. Time to fire up the reloading tool and hit the range!

Primers are becoming more and more available. To the north, in Oregon and Washington, they're readily in stock for about $30-$35 per thousand according to some folks I know who live up there.

Woo Hoo! Now get out there & make some NOISE!
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

That's good to hear. I don't know if the drought is exactly "OVER" yet though. I know some dealers are processing backorders as they receive product, but Powder Valley still isn't taking any new backorders on pretty much any primer most people would need/want. Cabelas has shipped some long standing back orders, but mine was recently pushed out another 30 days for CCI primers.

Recent checks by visitors/residents in NV show "no reloading supplies in stock." I haven't had anyone check for me in OR/WA though.

Powder is pretty much hit and miss, with Varget being a perenial miss. You certainly can't put together any "complete" order and get what you need and combine the Hazmat to make the pricing worthwhile.

I wouldn't declare the "drought" over quite yet.

I don't think the drought is over, but I'd guess it's definitely on the down turn.

I was at Bass Pro in Rancho a few weekends back and bought some .223 bullets in 55 and 75gr. Didn't bother to ask about powder, but they did have quite a few presses in stock...still in the box and the boxes weren't beat to sh*t.

I need to actually buy a press now and put my couple hundred rounds of brass to good use.

Powder Valley just shipped my 20K in primers (10K CCI 400 & 10K CCI 300) that were on backorder for over 4 months. I was down to only 2K each. This should hold me up until the rest of the year. They were still only $22.50 per K. After shipping and hazmat fees they are still under $25.00 per K. Now I have to go reload a few K and hit the range.

Hopefully it is over and I'll be able to get some.

I've never seen primers in stock. Anywhere. I've been looking for a while now too.

I'm still setting aside pennies in a jar and waiting for sanity to return (defined as most places have a stock of primers and powder).

Looks like just a couple more months and I'll crack open that jar and have a big order going out.
