Thought I was just adding dryer sheets to reduce dust...

So I never really thought to much about it but finally decided to use the dryer sheet method for collecting the dust and cleaning the media.

Now I welcome the laughs and head shakes, but I went to Lowes and bought a pack, 96 sheet pack, 96 lavender fresh pack...

Let me tell you when you are at the range and fire off a round and a get whiff of Lavender Fresh Field of Dreams, I couldn't help but look around and see if anyone also smelled it with a puzzled look. It works as intended but going to be looking for unscented now lol.

Used dryer sheets collect the dust better because it no longer has the fabric softener embedded in it. With 2 kid in the house and the washer running every day, I had no problem collecting used dryer sheets. You could go "ghetto" and dumpster dive in the laundromat trash cans and get all the used dryer sheets you would ever need <yuk>.

The dryer sheets collect the soot and lead dust from the primer compound and keeps the stuff from building up on the crushed walnut media which keeps it from turning black a lot longer.

Lately maybe because of cold weather, my powder of all types would stick to my powder trickler and funnel, I used 75% isopropyl alcohol, acetone, etc. still sticks, but dryer sheets works wonders. No more sticking powder.

YES--Save the used dryer sheets. They work better. Also cut them into 1/4ths and replace them every batch.
It is hard to believe that there are still some people who do not use them in the media. It lasts Sooooooooooo much longer
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

You need ratty sheets, or funky old socks.

Go to the dollar store. A buck a box, well I guess now buck 25 a box. Just throw them in your dryer and you'll have a endless supply for cheap.

You are not supposed to use NEW dryer sheets.
You want to save the dryer sheets from AFTER a load of laundry for your tumbling media dust collection.

You can wipe it down with graphite as well. Sprinkle it on , wipe it around and blow out the excess.

Do you cut up the dryer sheet into say, quarters or use the whole sheet?

I use new dryer sheets to get rid of static on the powder pan of my Chargemaster so that the powder doesn't stick.
