how much a 30-06 round weight?

    hi, folks

I am doing a quick comparison amongst a few different ammos.

I did google for 20 minutes, all I got are the weight of bullets, but not the loaded round, and end up weight my existing ammos. Unfortunately, I don't have a 30-06

I understand that the weight of ammo will vary quite some, particularly due to the bullet. But just for a rough idea, it is fine

    thanks

    Weight of a.30-06 cartridge

One of the most criminally ignored elements of military small arms ammunition in the casual discourse is weight.Despite being one of the most important elements from a logistical and human factors perspective, the subject of weight rarely comes up in discussions about ammunition, with those conversations tending towards sexier topics like muzzle energy, caliber, and “flash figures” like bullet weight and muzzle velocity.Since mid-2012, I have been keeping a database of ammunition weights, based on my collection of different cartridges both rare and mundane. The list has been kept in an Excel spreadsheet available over at my own site, 196,800 Revolutions Per Minute, but recently I have updated it with a large number of new rounds, including some very uncommon ones that I recently acquired, spurring me to write this post.
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

I don't know what you are researching... if it is about military and load out... IE

80 rounds of 30-06 in 10 8 Round Enblocks in a bandalero... that data is out there too

Now that's absolutely diabolical...that chart has projectile weights in grains, case weights in grams or ounces, and omits powder & primer weight.

OP, assume powder charge is approx 50 grains, and primers weigh 5 grains.

          7000 grains = 1 pound
          454 grams = 1 pound

And you can do the conversions yourself.

It has bullet weight in grains (most commonly used), Cartridge weight in grams or ounces so you can multiply them to figure loadout weights.
The cartridge weights will include the bullet, the case, the priimer and the powder weights.

So the answer the OP is looking for is that 30-06 cartridges weigh between 0.898 oz for M2 ball (150gr bullet) and 0.957oz for the M2 AP penetrators (165gr bullet).
