    Needed - 100 Rounds Bird-shot (12g) for Upcoming Class

My son-in-law has an upcoming shotgun fundamentals class.

200 rounds of bird shot are required... I am donating 100 rounds out of my personal stock but that taps me out.

I took a look online and most places I normally look are either online-only (and thus, a problem for CA's mail-order-ammo ban) or out of stock on everything except exotic stuff. The few places I saw any for sale it was going for nigh-on $10/25pk.

Whoa, I did not realize we were facing an imminent invasion - by birds, no less.

Where are you finding regular old bulk-pack 12g bird shot these days? I'm near Sacramento if that helps filter the results a bit.

I was hoping for a recommendation to a "kitchen table" FFL who can order ammo in for a nominal surcharge. Can Class 3 FFL's do this?

That would make it $100 a case. That is a good price nowadays. The days of $6 for a box of 25 are long gone.

I thought Walmart got completely out of the gunz & ammo biz a few years back? (in California)

They changed their mind? I haven't been to an actual brick & mortar Walmart in literally years so I wouldn't know.

Have you tried Red Line Balistics in Rancho Cordova (near the area of Hwy. 50 and Sunrise Blvd.)? Good folks and good prices whenever I've dealt with them.

Sportsmans should have 4 boxes. I make my own with lead, do they have to be non lead?

Maybe all the states that don't have non lead requirements, competitions and shotgun fundamental classes are picking up.

Just looked for them, found a barely-there website, no way to check what's in stock. May have to give them a call later. Wish I could just check, without having to make a call. Phone calling annoys me, getting put on hold, having people mumble or get interrupted and lose their train of thought, some people actually eating and chewing on the phone while you're trying to converse. I've actually had people lie to me on the phone to get me to come down, then bait-switch once I'm there. So yeah, some places that's the only way, I get it, but they probably get less business because of it.
