What heads for .45 match?

What heads (bullets) do you use for .45 match?
I'm looking to balance cost and accuracy. I don't need to be super accurate. I would like to be economical.

.45 Match

Some time ago you could buy .45 Match Ammo with 185gr SWC.Even the brass was stamped "Match".I think the ammo was made by Winchester. It was used for bull's eye two gun matches,as I recall. But,your .45 barrel had to be polished and throated,installation of a weaker slide spring and the ejection port opened and lowered,in order to cycle these rounds. Anyone else with more helpful info?

For IDPA I just use ball ammo - whatever I can find in these hard times. Accuracy out of the gun is better than I can hold 'em, I'm sure. Especially at target distances up to 25 yds.

I've never used so called "match" ammo in my defensive guns.

I used to shoot ball ammo, but for targets, I have switched to Semi Wad Cutter for all my.45ACP shooting. I just like the perfect little circles they make in paper and if your shooting in any of the matches or pistol leagues, it might give you the benefit of the doubt on some scoring. (and i need all the little help i can get)

I primarily shoot bullseye with my pistols, and for the 45 Auto, I use 200 grain cast bullets with 4.8 grains of Winchester 231 and Federal large pistol match primer. I get good results with it.

Old time reloaders have been using the term "heads" since the mid 60`s that I`m aware of,so it`s nothing new.
