Hey Folks,
I have a few questions for yall.
Does anyone moly coat their barrels? And if they do, what are they using? And more importantly, I'd like to hear WHY are they using it.
I have been looking around, and there seems to be a selection of moly pastes that have scored high acclaim in the shooters world.
TS-70 MOLY PASTE
SENTRY SOLUTIONS
FASTEX
BROWNELLS MOLY BORE TREATMENT
From what I have gathered, the TS-70 and the SENTRY SOLUTION seem to be the "Reining Supreme Beings". (The highest moly content).
If I were to use this product on my rifle barrel (.223 & .308), what is the cleaning/reapplication schedule? Do I just do a simple Break Free cleaning, and then a slight lubrication after a day at the range? And then, after a few thousand rounds, strip the barrel down to the metal again and reapply another coat of this moly?
And while I am on this moly-rant, I was also wondering...if the moly is used on other parts of the weapon (bolt carrier/bolt, pistol slide rails, sear, etc), do you/can you also use other lubricants on top of the moly coating?
I shoot handgun, shotgun, and rifle - and am currently using a few different products for each weapon. (Brian Enos Slide Guide #1, Break Free CLP, Shooters Choice PF-10, Snake Oil, etc...).
Reasoned responses would be appreciated and reflected upon.
Silly presumptions/guesses will be passed over and will reveal the intelligence of the poster. (Too many wanna-be tacticool fools are just repeating what they hear [like a parrot] without thinking over their responses).
Thanks guys/gals.
