Ceramic Media question

I see some of you use ceramic media for tumbling. A few questions and assumptions, correct me if I'm wrong:



1) This is used for tough cleaning situations correct?

2) This makes the cases matte instead of shiny?

3) What do you charge this media with (Nu finish)?

4) Do you clean this media?

5) How long does it last?

Any other tips and pointers for using ceramic? I got 10 lbs of 1/4 inch triangular ceramic media. I figure the sides of the triangles will do general cleaning and points will clean the primer pockets and insides.

It last a long long time. I use it with water and a strong detergent. It leaves a very shiny finish LIKE NEW! Get the porcelain spheres 3mm for bottle neck cases. The cylinder type get stuck inside.

I haven't tried it dry because of the possibility of ceramic particulate that could get airborne.

I also got some plastic blasting media. This should last forever.
