Is this range pickup brass or the brass you have been shooting ?
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I tumble mine with dawn for an hour, drain off the dirty liquid and flush with clean warm water, then refill and add more Dawn and tumble for a second hour. Drain and flush, then add Lemishine and let soak for twenty minutes. They come out nice and clean.

Did you lube , de-prime and resize so you can get the primer pocket clean while tumbling? If so what kind of lube are you using? I make the popular lanolin based lube off of the internet and it always leaves a cloudy residue. I add about a teaspoon of simple green to the mix and it degreased the cases while tumbling . They come out bright and shiny . Not too much of deagreaser or lemishine or other critic acid products and you’ll swing the water PH too far one way or the other and get brown or pink discoloration in the brass.

Recently I tried to give reloading advice, such as it is, to the OP and offered to hunt down some decent RCBS products.
He called me a clown. And now he is experiencing Reloading Problems 101. Life is a Beach.

"I got one from him about my question on reloading tokarev ammo. I just ignored." OP

I always do a triple rinse. ⅓ of a 9mm case of lemi shine & a few glops of car wash with carnauba wax @ 2 hrs for a deep clean & if I'm removing lube I don't add the ss pins.

Whenever i tumble range brass for the first time. Tumble at least 2 hours.
                    I use Palmolive antibacterial dishsoap.

And i also presoak my brass in a 50/50 mix of distilled vinegar and water the night before i tumble.
