    Cardinal sin

A friend gave me 300 plus 44 magnum reloads which he inherited from another friend. Yes I did the cardinal sin and said I will just shoot them. Yes I know better. lol. Thank goodness the first one was just a squib and not a bomb. Yes I know better!!!!

Experience = mistakes you have survived.

That happened to me once, but with 357 mags. Squib fire in a GP-100, and almost pulled the trigger again, but held back. Sure enough, bullet in the barrel. The guy that gave them to me assumed I'd take them apart, since they had gotten wet sometime years before - which he neglected to tell me. Live and learn! Stay safe.

Maybe he's not really your friend...

Lucky it didn't go the other way. i went shooting with my shift supervisor and he gave me some reloads in .44 Mag. Thank God it was a Super Black Hawk I was shooting, because the first round went, "pa-tink" just barely making it out the barrel. I should have quit right there but no, I had to touch off the second round that was a double charge. The Ruger ate it without complaint, and I angrily gave the remaining rounds back. I don't think my 29 would have survived it, an angel was sitting on my shoulder on that one.

              Why not disassemble and reload?

That wasn't mine to deal with it was his, he wasn't giving me ammo just offering me some rounds at the range. If it were mine to do as I wished I would do just that, break it down and deal with it.
