shot some 308 win reloads today

it did pretty nice, I was using the CCI bench rest LR primers, varget powder reloaded with a LEE press and redding dies that randall recommended.
    USI range
100 yrds slight winds like usual at Concord.
Shot with my Savage rifle listed in my signature.
Load was 43 gr of varget with the benchrest primers
WCC Brass SMK 175 gr bullet
    2.8215 COAL
I did use the cheapy plastic shooting rest.

First two shots were the high right, adjusted and hit 2 above, adjusted again closer to point of aim * orange dot* the flier was the lower right

    rifle & distance
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

I dunno, I've never been much for guns. I mean, sure, we have the usual gun by the door, another near the TV, one in the kitchen, and another in the bedroom...and several others laying around. For the most part though, we keep our home free of guns. We are peace loving folks.

Fout shots in .7" ain't too shabby. I like the same bullet over 45 grains of Reloader-15 in a Winchester case. It shoots .5" at 100 from my Remmy.

looks good so far. invest in a set of good rests (front/rear) and LOTS of ammo. I'd suggest using Nosler Custom Competition. They are about 30% cheaper and shoots the same as Sierras. You can try other more expensive bullets (Lapua, Berger etc) later as your skills and range increase. But for most of us, i doubt the difference is much.

I shoot a Savage 308 too and I use a Lee Collet Die for neck sizing only. It's fantastically accurate, extends your brass life and reduce the need for trimming all the time. Finished bullet concentricity is around 0.001" out of both my Lee hand press and Forster co-ax. Using the collet neck die allows you to load at the range much easier for load development.

Use the Nosler CC`s and tighten those groups up even more.

Well, I guess you cant really call that a group. You were readjusting your POI after every few shots. Seeing where they are landing however, if you may have a nice load, just crank out a few more and aim for the same spot and see where all 5 land.

I use sandbags and a cheap Caldwell rear rest for my shooting.
