    Alternative powders

I am looking for an alternative to Alliant Unique powder. All serious suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

There are a lot of powders that overlap with Unique in various pistol loads. 2400, Bullseye, Herco, and 700x come to mind.

What are you using it for? That might help narrow it down some.
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

Look it up on burn rate chart. See what calibers and find another powder for same bullet loading data..

Alliant Unique is used for handgun and shotshells I think.

If you could give us a few calibers to go on I'm sure that we could give you some choices.

After the first Obama shortages I did a work up on my favorite loads and alternatives with several different powders just in case I got caught short again.

I would suggest Hodgdon Universal. I attached the chart I use below to compare powders.

            Good luck,

Basically anything is a good replacement for unique. It doesn't do anything you can't get from another powder that meters better.

                    Accurate Arms #2, #5, or #7
                    Bullseye
                    W231
                    HP38

Bullet weights/surface materials have an influence on powder choice as well. Provide that for each caliber, and peeps here can provide more specific answers.
