    Norma Powder Kaput...

So....just got done calling Western Powders since they list Norma powders. They said Western Powder got sold to Hodgdon so I should call them about Norma powder.

I called Hodgdon and they said that, yes, they did acquire Western Powders last fall, but the Norma import contract wasn't continued after that acquisition.....that I should call Powder Valley they thought.

So....I called Powder Valley. They said that, no, they are not the importer now, but they had received all of the left over Norma powder a while back, but it's long gone.

Dang. It would seem that Norma powder is no longer being imported into the United States :-(

I sent an email to the contact info listed on Norma's website: info.us.ammotec@ruag.com ....but I'm not holding out much hope.

Just wanted to pass along what I found out.

Sportsmans Warehouse was selling Norma 200 and 202 for $18/lb last year. I bought all they had. Too bad, my 202 loads were about the most accurate powders for my .308 lead cast bullets.

Nobody on Calguns cares. They think powder comes from God and that there is an endless supply. They don't even realize how little of it is still manufactured in the US.

Just called the importer. They claim the Convid situation has disrupted the flow of powder, but that it isn't expected to be a permanent problem. They claim that the shipment of powder into the US has always been erratic, as has been the ammunition.

I believe Alliant powders are still manufactured here, as is Winchester powder.
          Endless supply!? Hmm, not lately.

All of the Alliant extruded rifle powders are made in Sweden (Borfors) or Switzerland (Raug).

Ahh, got it. The only Alliant powders I have are Handgun powders. Those are made here. Thanks.
