    Anyone else using 244?

I bought 2 pounds on a whim. It's not going well so far!

The data from the Winchester site is unusual. Huge charge weight jumps depending on oal. A lead 124gr 9mm maxes out where a fmj starts. I know data always changes based on oal, but usually there's more consistency and smaller jumps. My .355 plated 124rn's at 4.1gr are too hot, oal 1.135". I'll retry at 3.8gr.

Tried 45acp. 4.3gr under a 230gr Berry's plated. 4.1gr is the min load, so this should be a decent factory load. Shoots ok, but it's filthy like nothing I've ever dealt with. Powder flakes blown all over my arms and my gun is covered in soot. I used lead .452" data with a 4.1 min... Fmj starts at 5.1gr with a .451". A full 1.0gr spread for the same weight bullet seems excessive, but this 4.3gr sure as hell doesn't work. It's getting stout feeling, so I can't imagine 5.1gr+ feeling reasonable.

I'm going to load it in .40sw next. The 40 data looks ok, but who knows. So far this powder is kind of a letdown.

On the burn chart 231 is 29th, 244 is 31st, so technically a hair slower.

It makes a big old mess in 45 like a slow powder, but 4.0gr is maxing out a 9mm like a pretty fast powder.
