PMC when first came about jokingly stood for Poorly Made Cartridge. They have since been sold to a company in Korea and quality has actually gone up.Comment

"Precision Made Cartridges" is just the slogan of Pan Metal Corporation. Before that it was the slogan of Patton Morgan Corporation. There is no company named "Precision Made Cartridges".
Patton Morgan Corporation was a company set up in the U.S. back in the late 1970's to import ammunition from the South Korean ammo maker Poongsan Metal Corporation. It was set up by Poongsan Metal and owned by Poongsan Metal. There wasn't person named "Patton Morgan" involved. Poongsan just made up that American sounding name because it had the same initials as Poongsan Metal Corp. They later changed the American subsidiary's name to Pan Metal Corportation, but it is still owned by Poongsan of Korea. The daughter of the man who founded Poongsan Metal still runs Pan Metal Corp and before that it was run by his son. Now they import ammo from all over the world, not just their parent company's South Korean facilities. They even set up a production facility in the US, the Eldorado Cartridge factory in Nevada, but I believe they shut it down last year.Last edited by Mssr. PMC is good stuff. In their early days, they were known for loading their pistol ammunition on the hot side while the American companies were downloading their stuff. 240 grain .44 Remington Magnum was really hot stuff. I could barely get through a cylinder full of that stuff without developing a really bad flinch in my Ruger Redhawk.
I had a friend who used to work for PMC in Nevada. He said he'd have to replace a couple of Model 29's a year because they'd shoot loose or crack someplace. Whenever he'd visit L.A., he'd bring ammo for us. I asked for a box of .44 Mag. He hesitated, then gave it to me saying, "Oh yeah. You shoot a Redhawk."NRA Life Member
