    Mix headstamp

These are all various once fired (pretty sure) brass.

Left group is Win USA and weigh 95 grains
Right group is WCC and weigh 98.5 grains

Each group has what I think are 223 and 556 differentiating markings but am I correct in assuming they are physically the same.

They are all annealed (one doesn't look it but it is) and crimped.

Exact same thing. 5.56 = military designation and crimp will need to be removed before reloading.
.223 = civilian designation for the 5.56 cartridge. Probably not crimped.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the 5.56 just a hair longer than the 223. Seems when I'm trimming I see the difference and have heard it mentioned on here before

Different brass brands has different lengths, strengths and every time it's fired it changes too, there's a tolerance built into the chambers.

Once I get done processing they are all the same length though...

My understanding is that the 5.56/.223 difference is in the chamber dimensions, not in the cartridge. I've never seen a 5.56 reloading die set, only .223, does such a thing exist?

And if the crimp remains, then it's once-fired.
