my powder coating tips
dont size your bullets or touch them after they come out of the mold (reason dont touch your bullets you will leave finger oils or other filth on them that may cause the powder to adhere splotchy)
i dump my bullets in a bucket of water from the mold then pour them through a strainer then place them on a towel on a table in the sun and let them dry i then put them in a bin for a couple days before powder coating to make sure they are moisture free
i make a little basket out of stucco lathe (expanded steel at home depot)
i put around 200 in a ice cream bucket then around 2 table spoons of powder put the lid on and swirl for a good 5 minutes one direction then another let them roll around back and forth not just a centrifuge swirling you need them to mix around then put that bucket down for a minute (to let the dust settle)
then place down a sheet of newspaper or cardboard place the metal lath basket on it and pour the bullets and powder pick up the basket give it a little shake take that excess powder and put it back in the container
now i am still using the yellow powder i got at harbor freight (they don't have colors anymore) so that tells you how long a person can make it last
i got a little toast-r-oven on craigslist i set it for 325 for 20 minutes my little basket fits inside after its over i take it out using leather gloves and pour them in a bucket of water
