    Pulling 45 70 bullets

Curious, I am pulling 405 grain cast bullets and reloading them with a lee handloader, do I need to run them back thru die, or bevel, powder. Load bullet and crimp?

Depends. Typically, seating a bullet will expand the sized case a bit (i.e. the sizing makes the case mouth small enough to get some amount of interference fit between bullet and case.) When you pull the bullet, the case mouth will normally contract a bit (i.e. end up a bit smaller than bullet diameter, but larger than the brass would be if the bullet was not seated.)

So whether or not you need to do anything other than re-charge and re-seat depends on if you get enough bullet hold after pulling the bullet to do whatever it is you are trying to do (keeping in mind you may need more hold for some applications than others.)

You may, however, need to expand the case if there was a significant crimp on it, as the rim of the mouth will likely be too small to get the bullet started.

I would guess you don't need to debur or chamfer the case if the bullet went in OK the first time. Crimping after seating will, again, depend on your application.

The 45-70 is a straight wall case. You will need to bell the case mouth then seat the bullet and recrimp.
Also it may be smart to run the case into your resizer die far enough to resize where the bullet seats as the 1st one may have expanded it a bit.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

          Yes.

Why are you pulling and reinstalling?

Pulling because I received 300 rounds of already loaded rounds without powder info. All are trapdoor loads by weight. Rather than guessing im pulling and reloading, but I use the lee loader, not a press, so getting ideas on if I need to resize, btw I will be shooting in lever

I use a grip and pull bullet puller. They work really well. You just have to use a regular press. From what I remember and I could be wrong but I believe it only
Neck sizes so it may cause a little issues with your gun.

If they were for trapdoor, I would just shoot them. All of mine shoot out of a lever action and I wouldnt want to risk any bullet setback with the reseated bullets sitting in the tube mag.

If I were in your position, and set on changing the bullet, I would pull them, dump the powder, resize, redrop powder (with a bit of flare), reseat bullet, and crimp. Thats a bit of work, so I would consider just shooting them since the should have been loaded for less pressure.

If I didn't know exactly what was in them, I'd go through the trouble of breaking them down as well. Ditto with not knowing what some other reloader did.
