The most I'd do is take it apart and use the primer and bullet and brass. Not worth blowing up your gun over someone else's load. Unless you can guarantee that it's a factory or mil surplus.

Looks like a Barnes TTSX bullet. If so, those like to be loaded to at or near max. I would be reluctant to shoot that as-is in one of my guns. Pull the bullet, put new powder of known value in it, and re-seat the bullet.

Blue tip, looks like a copper bullet, wide flat banded cannelure is a giveaway. My money is on Barnes TTSX.

Looks like a small lube crease to me. If I'm right about the bullet being a Barnes TTSX, it is definitely a reloaded round and not factory. No telling what the powder is, but a safe bet that the charge is a or near published maximum.

You guys are right about it being a Barnes TTSX .308" 180gr bullet based on length. It is actually factory ammo, and the brass is headstamped BARNES 30-06 SPRG which leads me to believe it is indeed factory. Powder was 37.0gr spherical, and from the load data published by Barnes, I could not find a spherical powder listed with a charge weight range that encompassed 37.0gr.

I also couldn't get the bullet out with any amount of hammering on a kinetic puller due to the neck being crushed down and into the bullet so I had to drill a hole through the side of it and keep the drill bit inside the bullet as I lowered the ram to get the darn thing out (which is why I couldn't just weigh the bullet). Replaced it with 150gr TTSX that I had on hand.

Those marks on the case are cosmetic, and you can't feel them. Despite this, I will probably be keeping the round in my range findings museum.
