They has 5.56 win 150 rd boxes 100 bucks and some 12 and 20 gauge. I was in line this morning for another item and all was gone except 7.62x39 for 40 cents a round. Some guy came in behind me and asked about 9mm and was told gone yesterday in 5 minutes. He complained he had been in many times just too impatient to wait in line tough shxt. First day on shelf 3 box limit.

I think I paid about $100 for my last 1000 rounds of .223. I can't believe people are still paying that, much less planning ahead to wait in line to pay that!

Since Tom has not bought ammo in 15 -20 years ammoseek has the cheapest available now at over a buck a round. I have not seen reloads at 10 cents apice in at least that time.Comment

I don't have a 223, but I seem to remember that $6/20 ($0.30/rnd) was the going rate for years.Ronald Reagan once said that the most terrifying words in the English language are: "I'm from the government and I'm here to help".

I agree with Edgerly, you just have to be patient. Big 5 has been reasonable and pretty steady with their inventory. Just not a lot in quantity.Comment

I am going to a couple this week. Wait in line and do my paperwork while in line.Comment

Experience...
Last 3 weeks had very little 9mm. Our store received 10 boxes last week of FMJ and 20 of hollow point. They have been getting a fair amount of 223 and 556.
If you're going to do paperwork in line, it won't be for the ammo purchase. All of that is inside. The local staff are trying really hard to help out but have very little supply. Directions from corporate changed again last week. Now 200 round maximum per caliber on delivery day in addition to 3 box max per caliber (whichever you hit first). You can max out on as many calibers as you want (so far). Guy in front of me bought some of everything: 223, 45 home defense (only kind they had), 22, 25 (whatever that is), 44, 556, and I think I'm missing some.
They had a couple of boxes of 380 last week. Haven't seen any 38 Spc or 357 in the last month.Comment

2/25 Report
Our Big 5 (SoCal) said they received 2 boxes of 9mm today; gone to the first person in line (staff said he shows up at 6am). No 45 ACP after the first 5 people. No 223, 556 this week. Some 22 lr, handful of 380, and some 12 guage.
Slim pickings this week, unless you needed 22.Comment

Does 2 boxes of 50 rounds for the entire store for an entire week really count as "getting 9mm there"? I mean it's better than zero, but only for the one guy who was willing to show up at 6 and wait four hours...Comment
