What sucks about that 300yd range is the overhang is so low and metal. As loud as an indoor range without the benefits... At least there are berms on each side, cuts down on wind for testing purposes. Stay safe!

I know the OP asked for a snapshot of the manual showing Varget and Sierra Game King loads, but I wanted to mention that the 150gr GK does really well with H4895 too, if he has any laying around. I'm using the max suggested load of 45.5gr with no overpressure signs, and am into the 2,800+ velocity range with the 150 gr GK.

Other than me anticipating the shot and flinching on the 1st round I slipped 3 into a ragged hole. See lower left diamond. Sorry, if the 1st target pic was small

I did a test using the same powder charge and bullet, with commercial FC and then military LC cases. I got more velocity out of the LC case load, which I would expect from a case with slightly less volume. But I did not reduce any charges to account for it, nor did I see any signs of over pressure. Just a slight increase in velocity.

Not only that, but "well-known" loads have been worked up for decades, and load development for any given rifle in .308 is a very short exercise.

This is a new to me rifle & caliber. I was looking but not finding the info, so I asked for a little help.

I get it, and you did the right thing. If I came off as disparaging or dismissive, I apologize. You're going to be pleasantly surprised at how agreeable .308 is to all kinds of load combo's. It is a very forgiving and easy to load for caliber, and will do most anything you might want a rifle to do.

here is a good thread on .308 I t doesn't cover 150's but really I'd start with 168's if available. old thread but good info.

                            EDIT:

I did find this data, don't know if it's "published" but it might be helpful.

The reloading section has some real Curmudgeons that like to somehow bark to make themselves feel better about themselves. Take the help with a grain of salt and sift through it. I don't know why they do it, we need more people in the sport not less.

Look at some of the battles in old threads, they are actually quite entertaining with the measuring contests. Still, lot's of good people to help you here.
