9mm Headstamp on .380

I'm loading some mixed 9mm to shoot on Saturday and I'm looking at headstamps to weed out certain ones. I looked at a case and saw S&B 9mm, put it in to size it and could tell it was a .380 case.

Took a loser look and to me it says 9mm, then an 8 or B, then r.c. For instance, "9mmBr.c.".

I only started loading .380 recently so I've never had any in the mix until now, but they sure sneak in there when your loading 9mm.

Anyone familiar with these and why they are marked this way?

I was told that some European call 380 ACP short 9mm thus the 9mm on S&B
The 9mm Luger S&B is marked S&B with 9x19

Ok, well I would say we need a PSA for this, lol, but I'm pretty sure everyone will catch it when they resize like I did.

They do. You'll eventually get to the point that you can discern the 9mm Kurz (.380 Auto) cases very quickly and thus leave the .380's on the ground.

That is definitely the German designation for OUR 380.

Could also be a Spanish designation which is 9mm corto. (SHORT)

i'm not that good but boy when one goes in the press it sure sizes easy then i pick it out

For a 1 shot wonder a .380 case shoots fine in my M9.

The case is HORKED and ruptured, but there's a pandemic going on...

This was tried by me in the last shortage, as I loaded, and shot one for funzies, since it is the same projectile width and it shot straight, only the .380 case is horked. I wouldn't recommend this but it works.

No, it says 9mm on a .380 case.

I also noticed in the pic that the other mark I couldn't make out looks like a crown, camera magnification is a great thing.
