    Differences between wolf .223

Can anybody explain the differences between the different kinds of .223 wolf ammo? I have several black boxes of the 20 round wolf .223 that is marked steel cased. The casing is a green like color. I just received some loose rounds of wolf .223 through a trade and the casing color is grey like color. Can somebody explain the difference in casing and if one is better/more expensive?

Some (like the military classic) has lacquer-coated steel casings and the other newer stuff is polymer-coated which is supposed to be better and not so dirty.

The grey cases (polymer coated) are a little more slick and are supposed to aid in extraction as compared to the lacquer. The polymer is a somewhat recent development and is the replacement for the lacquer. New production black boxed stuff is going to be polymer.

        so is this correct...

        green casing=lacquer coated
        grey casing=polymer coated

polymer coating being more recent and new and possibly better?

Also, are they both still steel casing?

        Thanks

Additionally, Wolf no longer manufacturers the green lacquered cased ammo anymore if I'm not mistaken. All the new stuff I've seen lately has been poly-coated ammo.

i believe one is berdan primed while the other is boxer primed, they may have difference bullet weights, and come in different bullet styles as well
